Patchwork Passions aims to help customers to find just the right fabric for their next project. They have an extensive BOM project program and many kits available. There are many quilting groups and classes are held regularly. They have regular specialty workshops with guest instructors.
Window display (Is what a prospective customer first sees that draws them to your store, to the signage that directs them around, and the merchandising displays that catch their eye and ultimately influence them to purchase something)
The windows are very disappointing and bland. There is just a logo and a lace curtain in the windows. There are also bars on the windows. There is no story, no focal point. It is certainly no balanced or bold. It is well lit. I did notice that there was a car parked nearby that had a different logo – perhaps a window makeover with the new logo would improve things a little? (1 out of 10)
The layout of store/presentation (Presentation should serve to fulfil your customer’s needs as they shop with you. A good store design and layout will ensure that shoppers can move comfortably and easily throughout the space, and it will allow them to find what they’re looking for)
Items are all displayed at varying eye levels so you are drawn to look at different things around the store, more than just the fabric. The store is open and well lit and it is not cluttered. It is easy to move around and you feel invited into the store once you move past the awful windows. The displays are grouped with little fun ideas and lovely little notions and trinkets. The lighting is good and I felt inspired walking around the store. (10 out of 10)
There are plenty of staff available to answer questions should you have any. They are up for a chat, but also give you space to explore at your own leisure. The staff are knowledgeable and were able to help with a quilting question that I had about some hand quilting. They were very friendly and approachable. (9 out of 10)
My experience vs stores objectives
Overall I score the store today 20 out of 30. Which is pretty good. If you push past the initial window display at Patchwork Passion you are in for a treat. The stores interior is inspiring and colourful. The staff are super lovely and helpful. I would recommend a regular visit to Patchwork Passion. Support your local small bricks and mortar store!
