Another review in my series of shop review. This time for Palm Beach Quilting. This store is located on an industrial estate and is not too far from my place but has taken me ages to organise myself to get there for the review.
So for the basics

Palmbeach quilting is a patchwork and quilting shop located in South Eastern Melbourne. You will find all your quilting needs here. There is a longarm service available here too.
My experience
Elements measured
Window display (Is what a prospective customer first sees that draws them to your store, to the signage that directs them around, and the merchandising displays that catch their eye and ultimately influence them to purchase something)
The windows are small but do give an idea of what is available in the store. There is no story to the window display and no focal point. They are simple and well lit. (6 out of 10)
The layout of store/presentation (Presentation should serve to fulfil your customer’s needs as they shop with you. A good store design and layout will ensure that shoppers can move comfortably and easily throughout the space, and it will allow them to find what they’re looking for)
The products are all within easy reach with some inspiration display quilts higher up. There are longarm machines with quilting in progress on display throughout the store so you can see the detailed work. The store itself is eye-catching and not cluttered. There are unique Judy Niemeyer displays and quilts. There are wide aisles that are easy to manoeuvre around. The threads, patterns and colours are all grouped together inviting you too look and move around the store. (10 out of 10)
Staffing
The store is well staffed with knowledgeable staff who are not intrusive but are ready to assist as required. They are readily able to assist with quilt maths! There are many classes on offer and I met the owner who was very friendly and helpful. (9 out of 10)
My experience vs stores objectives
Overall I score the store today 25 out of 30. Which is pretty good. Palmbeach quilting is well worth the visit for the wide backs alone. If you have an interest in long arms I think you will also find the store quite interesting. There are many beautiful displays of quilts that are really inspiring and make you want to make quilts. It is worth a visit to the industrial area where it is located.
