HAPPY 2016!
A new year is always so fresh and sparkly – a clean fresh slate to start over, carry on with the good and move away from the bad. A new chance to get things right. There is a great anticipation of how our lives/lifestyles will change in 2016 if we just put the right practices into place.
I am so excited about 2016. I plan to sew and blog about it heaps. How does one about setting goals… Why do I feel it is important this year? I feel now that it is truly important to be creative and quilt. In order to do that, I need to do lots of sewing but mixed in with some real goals for the New Year.
Plans for 2016

You get the idea!
One challenge for 2016 is to finish my current WIPs/UFOs that are hanging around. Here is my complete list
- Ahhh’s green hexagons
- Millefiori rosettes quilt along
- William Morris Needlepoint
- Vintage Quilt flowers
- William Morris hexagons/EPP
I think my reward will be to start the smitten quilt which I have the pattern, paper pieces and fabric for.
I would like to find a quilting group to join for the socialness of quilting rather than just sitting by myself enjoying my sewing. I would really love to push myself to join a group. It would be a real push to find a quilting retreat to attend where I knew no-one that would exciting. I could learn new skills and socialise at the same time.
I read a blog post by Bonnie Hunter and she chooses a word for the year. Hers is soften. She says that this one word can help puzzle pieces fall into place if you just heed that one word. I have been thinking about what my word would be…
I need to find my happiness – so that is my focus. Below is a list of synonyms and the definition of happiness. These words embody what I am looking for professionally and personally.
happiness
noun: happiness; plural noun: happiness
contentment, pleasure, contentedness, satisfaction, cheerfulness, cheeriness, merriment, merriness, gaiety, joy, joyfulness, joyousness, joviality, jollity, jolliness, glee, blitheness, carefreeness, gladness, delight, good spirits, high spirits, light-heartedness, good cheer, well-being, enjoyment, felicity
I want to bring HAPPINESS to myself and others. I am often quick to judge myself against others and how they perceive me. Unless I am 100% certain that the judgement is about me then it shouldn’t affect my HAPPINESS. We all need that happy safe place to be where we can express our creative side, fill our souls and then share it with others.
