How much do I love my “cover” or heading image! A friend directed me to a Facebook page where the 52 week illustration challenge is being displayed. Week 32 happens to be fabric. Surprise, surprise I love fabric. I saw this image by Nicky Johnson and I fell in love with it. It so suits my blog title Beneath the Stitches. I see the two children and the dog playing beneath quilts and fabrics. It reminds me of happy childhood times. You remember when you made cubby houses under quilts and just played with fabrics, sheets and quilts.
I asked Nicky what her inspiration was and she told me that she is the creative director of the 52-week illustration challenge which is an online group for artists. There is a theme word every week for the year. Currently there are 3800 members. My image came from week 32. Nicky did this image in water colours and pencil. Originally it was an A4 image.
